OK so the latest in my saga. On my way home from the dealership where they spent 3 hours looking into the steering wheel vibration/shake (more on that later), the CD changer and single slot player both failed. The display reads INITIALIZING... then after it chugs along for a few seconds, it fails with CD ERROR, and they won't play. Have tried many CDs, removing/reinserting the cartridge, playing a single CD that worked fine previously, all to no avail.
Called dealer (actually OnStar put me through which was nice, since I was on the road), they said it's the optical connection/motor that is dead or whatever. I've called the company that all dealerships use to replace/fix audio components to see about an appointment for next week.
Anyone else who has experienced this and could let me know what your issue was and how much it cost to repair, would be greatly appreciated.
