I have had a bunch of cooling system work done on my 94 Seville (new radiator/new water pump/new thermostat) The heads may still be an issue. After several overheats my keyless entry just stopped responding. I replaced the battery (2032) but to no avail. The service manager at the Caddy dealership felt it just needed reprogramming because he tested it and saw some responding on some gizmo he had. Is it common for the fob to need reprogramming out of nowhere? or am I looking at a bad receiver on the Seville somewhere? Did the overheating create the issue or maybe the repairs to the cooling system??
Thanks in advance. I ordered a new fob off eBay to be safe (20.00 vs. 135.00 at dealer) and need to program that when I get it. Lastly is the programming on a 94 the wire shorting method?
