battery no charge

95 sls 160000 miles

getting 'battery no charge' message in the DIC. few questions maybe to help with.

thinking bad altenator.
how hard are these to change?
how expensive is new one?
would reman work?
name brand acd or aftermarket work?
new battery at same time?
