Hello friends. The short version: Is there anyone around who knows of a good repair shop for head gaskets in or around Greensboro, NC?
Now, the long version. Today, I was driving to class when my car started overheating, bad. Coolant disappearing has been a problem for a while now, but I just have not had the money to put the car in the shop, so I was waiting on my student aid disbursement (I know, terrible idea). Nevertheless, while I've managed to scrape by thus far, today she'd had enough and refused to cool off. I did manage to get her home under her own power. Now honestly, I'm a broke college student. Not poor - broke. The "smart" thing to do is park it and buy a Honda (love 'em or hate 'em, they run forever). But I just can't see myself in one. Plus, I love this car. It's not my FIRST car, but it is MY first car, the one I picked, the one I slaved for a year on a job I hate trying to buy. I love everything about it and I'm not ready to give it up yet. So, who knows of any good shops?

Symptoms thus far include repeat overheating and I'm pretty sure that the powdered Alumaseal I added to the radiator hose when I changed the coolant has now gotten into the engine and started to settle around the oil cap. Thus far, no white smoke or chocolately oil, even after driving ten miles home.
