Before I drop the tank (I hate dropping gas tanks) to replace the pump, I have to ask, is there an access panel in the trunk to remove the pump assy?
I replaced the pump in my daughter's Neon years ago, and Chrysler had a GREAT idea. They placed the pump assy on the SIDE of the tank. Piece of cake to remove...and not only that, they built in a drain bib into the housing!
