Intermittent high idle problem when engine is warm, no DTC. I cleaned the throttle body, butterfly and IAC valve with carb cleaner. Ran great for a couple of days until high idle occurred again after a cold start. Shut ignition off and restarted with normal idle. Bought new TPS at NAPA. The problem now is removing the dang TPS restraining screws with a screw driver! The top one is blocked off by a heavy piece of metal with only a 1/2 inch clearance. A bolt can be removed from a thick piece of metal that the coolant crossover is mounted to, in order to access the bottom screw. This is rediculous! They engineer a car so you have to tear it apart to access a screw? Is there a special tool to remove the screws from the TPS?

Code A012 - definitive explanation
I am really stuck and can use the knowledge of this well experienced community. 1994/OBD1
1. What sets this A012 code off?
Is it just a bad low side temperature sensor or connection to that sensor? I currently (November in Canada) get nice cool A/C blow when I go lowest temperature setting with automatic setting. In summer occasionaly the system does not blow cold when it is hot but eventually kicks in. I notice a stall tendency when I leave A/C on and turn the car on. Is that the low side sensor or am I low on freon? There is not a low freon code thrown. If it is just the temp. sensor I will get dealer to rplace but the dealer is less than helpful/they want to suggeszt new gaskets which I can safely avoid in my climate.

1997 STS problems.
Hi, I have a cadillac sts 1997. My trunk button doesn't work, nor does my gas tank button that's on the dash work. What could be thr problem? also, I changed my car spark plugs but not the wires, Also Does it matter what brand of wires I use?. Please help. I'd truly appreciate cadillac enthusiast. Also how much would you say 1997 cadillac sts is worth in excellent condition with 185 thousand miles on it?

Regarding OBD-I pcm values (Not codes)
When scrolling thru the menu I have found that there are a bunch of sensor values that it appears one can change... Does anyone have (or can you point me to) where I can find a chart ONLINE (I dont own an FSM) That will tell me what these items do, why one would want to adjust them, and why they would appear to be adjustable by the avg consumer???
I realize that dealing with OBD-I is a lost/dying art... sort of an archaic language if you will, but its what I've got in my '93 ETC N* 117K and I love the car... its has been very faithful to me in the past 18k but I'm sure there is more to learn..

Steering wheel controls question
Do the steering wheel controls for heat and radio just plug into the steering column on a 99 ESC?
I've never taken such a column apart before and a friend want me to tighten up the tilt mechanism for him...

Security system problems
I am new here and just bought a 2000 eldorado etc that has the flashing dash lights(theft,air bag traction control and so on)The car starts and drives but I am trying to get it fixed and have read some good information here. I was thinking about doing the bypass and was checking my key for the resistence and this is where I am stumped. My key checks out at .744 which is outside of the range of key #3 and key #4. I have checked it with 3 different meters and they all read .743- .744 How could this be?

lower control arm available ? 90 eldorado
I may not be calling it the correct term.....the lowest component under the drivers side strut.....has a big control arm that passes thru the frame....Cadillac has discontinued,........my parts store says NO-DICE ! 2003 Seville heated seats
Thanks for all the advice about fixing heated seats. Four wires go to the seat cushion heater. The 2 grey wires were good. The red and the black wires (very thin hair-like wires) on mine had come loose. One minute with a soldering iron fixed that, and the seats heat up beautifully now. Thanks again.

2003 Seville rear air shocks not releasing air
On my 2003 Seville, the compressor works, and pumps up the shocks under load, but does not release or exhaust the air when unloaded unless I manually remove the airline hose at the shock itself. Could there be a blockage in the dryer part of the compressor, and is this serviceable? Any help is welcome.

First taste of Winter
I drove my Eldorado in-town on our very icy NE Ohio roads this morning. No salt until I hit the highway. I've been excited to have her out in the snow but this is a lot of car once you start sliding!! My lock mechanism (the vertical slider, not the key area) was frozen on the driver's side. I had to crawl in on the passenger side. I am going to squirt some WD-40 in the door unless someone has a better suggestion (no garage.) My antenna was also frozen and wouldn't rise, it was fine later in the day. I will oil it also. I am still feeling really good about facing the winter in my caddy, coming from a Sunfire/Caravan the heated seats alone are a revelation! :)

Remove ac compressor pully
I am looking to remove my whole AC/compressor and pulley in my 94 Cadillac sts. I already have the harmonic balancer off and the 3 bolts but it still won't come out, any help ?

Passenger mirror compatibility
I'm needing to replace my passenger outside mirror on my 02 sls. It has the heated/memory mirror. Will any from 97-04 work as long as it has 2 connectors coming out of it? The listing online just says heated mirror but the seller doesn't have the option code listed from it. Is there a way to know for sure without asking for the code?

Battery drain / 03 Seville
Hi Again, seems when I have a problem I can't solve I ask you guys, you are the ones who have the answers. I know it gets repetitious about some issues, especially sometimes simple things. This time when the economy hasn't looked good and people are out of work, we tend to save as much as possible on repairs and we rely on your judgments on issues to help us out. So Thanks you.
Car was doing ok, starting great. To my surprise , went out to car and nothing , completely dead, remote trunk , radio just barely lit up and then faded. Was junp started today, all ok now. Lights on dash, signal lights, head lamps strong. Dash board 14.3 volts and holding.
Went out 2 hrs later started right up everything works good. Went out later and still ok. big test will be overnight, see if its ok in am.
obviously something drained the battery, The dash lights did not come on anytime indicating a problem with the battery. Would you have
any suggestions for trouble shooting the issue. Could take it in to shop, but they charge you just for looking at it.

Radiator and oil cooler lines problem
Hello everyone.
I have been trying to change my broken radiator yesterday. Since I know that the oil cooler lines tend to rust hard in the radiator, I bought a new radiator and new oil lines.
Here is my issue. The new radiator came without the sort of bolt where the lower line "clips" in. I cannot take it of the old one (it broke while trying to) and I can't find one on Rockauto. Can you tell me where I can find such a thing. I only need the "bolt" that goes in the lower right of the radiator where the oil line clips in...
